spatial resolution [4 records]

Record 1 2012-02-29

English

Subject field(s)
  • Tomography
CONT

Improved spatial resolution has been steadily pursued by CT manufacturers, as witnessed by the ever-increasing matrix dimensions: 80, 128, 160, 256, 320, 512.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Tomographie
DEF

Définition de l'image fournie par la tomodensitométrie.

Record 2 2006-10-16

English

Subject field(s)
  • Remote Sensing
  • Optical Instruments
  • Range Measurements (Telecommunications)
DEF

The smallest distance or angular displacement at which two neighbouring objects can be resolved.

CONT

All real sensors ... have a limit on how small an object on the Earth's surface can be and still be "seen" by a sensor as being separate from its surroundings. This limit, called the spatial resolution of a sensor, is an indication of how well a sensor can record spatial detail.

OBS

spatial resolution: term officially approved by the RADARSAT-2 Terminology Approval Group (RTAG).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Télédétection
  • Instruments d'optique
  • Mesures à distance (Télécommunications)
DEF

Spanish

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Teledetección
  • Instrumentos ópticos
  • Medidas de distancia (Telecomunicaciones)

Record 3 1996-12-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Computer Graphics
  • Applications of Automation
DEF

In computer graphics, horizontal and vertical resolutions caused by subdividing and quantizing a screen into individual pixels.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Infographie
  • Automatisation et applications
DEF

Distance ou écart angulaire le plus petit permettant de distinguer deux objets voisins.

OBS

Terme proposé dans ISO/CEI JTC N1746, 1995 et uniformisé par le Comité de terminologie spatiale CUTS.

Record 4 1986-05-15

English

Subject field(s)
  • Air Pollution
  • Statistical Graphs and Diagrams
  • Mathematical Geography
DEF

The minimum distance in space over which meaningful differences in results can be determined (using a particular model). (For example, a model based on a 381-km grid will provide no significantly different information for two receptor points separated by less than approximately 381-km.

CONT

Specifically, the objectives of the May, 1981 Phase II report are to provide a refined spatial/geographic resolution to the transboundary air pollution problem; to determine various loadings/effects relationships for individual regions or zones identified as sensitive.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Pollution de l'air
  • Diagrammes et graphiques (Statistique)
  • Géographie mathématique
OBS

résolution : aptitude à mesurer une petite valeur d'une grandeur physique. Cette valeur elle-même.
